PLAYBOX SHORTS ON TOUR IN SPLIT, CROATIA FOR ADVENT, 2024 PLANS ANNOUNCED

The traveling program of the Playbox Shorts Film Festival was held in the Karaman cinema in Split, Croatia on Saturday evening, December 2nd, 2023. As part of the program, two short feature films were shown, “Ispit” by Nina Anđelković directed by Karlo Gagulić and “Šta će selo reć” by Luka Šamadan directed by Karlo Gagulić, which won the audience award at the first edition of the Playbox Shorts film festival.

The Playbox Production Team announced the second edition of the film festival, which will be held in Zagreb from October 10th to 12th, 2024. The festival will be held at four locations in the very center of Zagreb, and in addition to films, the festival will be full of workshops and concerts at the Zagreb Velesajam.

“This is just the beginning of our plans for 2024. We want the festival to be as big and as attractive to our audience as possible. We will host over 400 VIP guests, 20 film premieres, and we will also host some big world stars that we watch on Netflix,” Karlo Gagulić said, director of two films that were shown in Split and founder of the festival.

Luka Šamadan, the author of the film “Šta će selo reć” is satisfied with the reaction of the Split audience and especially points out that he is looking forward to all the novelties of the festival.

“Showing the film in my hometown, in front of my audience, was really exciting for me, but also quite stressful, since it means a lot to me that the audience likes my film and of course they are all rooting for my film’s success. It’s quite nerve-racking! Fortunately, the reactions were positive, and the support for my work and that of my colleagues has never been greater, which is why I am looking forward to returning to Split with future projects,” said Luka Šamadan, author of the winning film.

Who are the stars of the film and music scene?

Gagulić points out that they cannot reveal it to the public yet, but that the audience can certainly expect a spectacular three days and good entertainment.
