Playbox Shorts Film Festival is an international short film festival founded in Zagreb in 2023. Guided by the slogan “Playbox Shorts – More Than Film,” the festival goes beyond traditional screenings by combining a carefully curated film programme with live music, educational workshops, masterclasses, industry events and opportunities for emerging filmmakers to connect with audiences and professionals.

Since its launch, the festival has grown into a vibrant cultural platform for young authors and new cinematic voices from Croatia and around the world. The 2026 edition received 1,213 film submissions, from which 18 outstanding works were selected for the Official Competition. Taking place in Zagreb from October 7 to 10, 2026, the fourth edition will bring together international short films, filmmaker Q&As, concerts and special events across several festival venues.
